Acupuncture
Acupuncture aids the natural healing mechanisms of the body, by helping to boost and move energy, improve immunity and calm and relax the body and mind.
Acupuncture originated in China around 2000 years ago. It has survived and flourished to the present day because of its effectiveness in treating a wide range of conditions.
Acupuncture is based on the theory that energy flows through the body along pathways called meridians. These meridians are connected to our internal organs. When the organs are out of balance, acupuncture stimulates the appropriate meridians by the insertion of very fine needles at specific points to bring harmony back to the system.
In Chinese Medicine, the energy or qi is meant to flow freely in a healthy individual. When the flow of qi becomes blocked due to disharmony or stress then physical or emotional symptoms can occur. When the qi is out of balance and not flowing freely, acupuncture can help restore balance to the body and mind.
